Why not join your local Freegle (Free Giving Locally Easily) group? It's an entirely non-profit making network of local groups who give and get stuff for free. If you've got something you don't need any more but it's still usable - a chair for example - you just post an advert to the group by email or on their app. Or if there is something you need - perhaps a fishing rod - you can just post a wanted advert.
No money changes hands. Freegle simply helps people who have things they want to get rid of get into contact with people who can use them and keeps usable stuff out of landfill. It really does work.
